A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from partners or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you host a domain on our cloud platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you create under the domain. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a lot of features, but it is remarkably simple to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just a single mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be shown in this section alphabetically and you’ll only have to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the respective email address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires yet another mouse click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be configured with a few clicks of the mouse in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated service with us. The hosting account will be administered through our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes with any domain name registered there. To enable the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox, you’ll need to click the sign with the same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be accomplished in the very same fashion and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a specific domain, you’ll receive a warning note. The same is valid if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or modify anything automatically.
